Stay Down

Do you have our album? Have you heard the record that the Kansas City Star's Tim Finn says, "unleashes a bone-cracking pummel and convulsive vocal/guitar roar?" Oh come on - it's been out since 2007. If you don't have a copy, why not head on over to CD Baby and pick one up?

What the hell is going on?

08.16.10 We won.

The third time's a charm, they say. Apparently. Last night FoHp was presented the plaque for "Best Rock Band" at the 2010 Pitch Awards. It was our third consecutive year being nominated in this category, so it's pretty cool to win.

Upon accepting the award, Gregg waxed eloquent about playing music in Kansas City for 32 years and this being the first formal recognition. Troy thanked unable-to-attend bandmates Kriss Ward and Johnny Catfish, and Bob Ezrin (also presumably unable-to-attend).

If you voted for us, THANKS. If you voted against us, well, thanks for at least paying attention.

More from the show. Why not?

06.24.10 You need to check this out, Federation Freaks: There's a nice feature on Gregg in today's Kansas City Star Preview section. The profile devotes a lot of time to his day gig, but also features a fair amount of band biz, such as this description of playing at The Brick:

"I had a bad habit of jumping up on the bar and playing," Todt says. "The stage, crammed between the entrance and the bar, makes an easy stepping-stone. Getting up there is fine. Getting off … not as easy.”

This just in—it seems our protagonist may have a familiar precursor and doppelganger in the annals of English art rock:
